What are you all thinking so far? I'm glad Ellsbury fell past the first round!

Well, I took Teixeira as more of the BPA, but would prefer to trade him for a player in the 2nd or 3rd rd plus picks before round 10.
Was hoping Verlander would fall to me, but happy to get the ML strike out leader in Jered Weaver. Depending on who John takes next, I will be either VERY happy or terribly sad, with my 5th rd pick.

I hear ya on the Verlander/Weaver front. Believe it or not, I debated between those two for a while. I went with Verlander just because I had Weaver last year.
I have been pretty happy with the way my draft has gone so far. Having most people keeping early picks instead of keeping value picks later on the draft through me off. I was definitely not expecting that. I'm hoping to find a few more power bats in here somewhere (if anyone is looking to deal for pitching, hit me up).

re: John's comment about overpaying for saves (in the 8th round draft thread). In the second year of a keeper league, that keeps players based on round drafted, I don't think you are REALLY paying for saves, unless you take them within the first 5 rounds or so. A lot of guys are going much, MUCH higher than the normally would, because the 60 players kept are all over the map (and a lot of them have a value that would have them drafted rounds higher than they were kept). I mean, two of my guys for example, Votto and Crawford, are both 1st rd picks in both re-draft and keeper leagues this year. One is kept in the 2nd and the other the 3rd. Other players are much the same. There's no way Stubbs goes in the first 8 rounds of ANY draft and I LOVE him. Seriously, whoever drafted him needs to trade him to me

I almost took His Mexcellence with my last pick. And here I am not picking until the 9th. Guess we'll have to see how the closers shake out.

Seeing how I had Broxton in 8ish and Axford as FA last year, I'm def not paying saves, even tho I should just load up on closers now that I have no real ace.

I'm definitely on the screw the closer bandwagon. Got almost all of my saves from the waiver wire last year. Of course, I can assist with the "no real ace" issue. Haha

I usually like to draft one big closer, and get the rest of my saves cheap. The best closers help in more than just the save category, which is usually how I justify drafting one.
Though with my pitching keepers I've been trying to focus on offense

Round 9 is about to start. I am watching a euro cup football game that is starting now, so I'm back here in 45mins

To think I had Hellboy the whole last year, only to not keep him. Talk about being ahead of my time...

I was actually debating between him and Hudson as well. I have plenty of good high upside keepers, unfortunately games are played in the present!
Oh, and Arch, you can relive the Hellickson ownership glory days if the price is right. Haha
