Not ENTIRELY out of touch. Obviously, since my wife hasn't seen me since last June, I won't be online near as much as I am now, but I will be able to make picks or at least PM a prospective list to someone. Plus, the about me did need a little updating

ahh top ten movies are always difficult for a movie buff. One that always stands out for me is Glory with mathew brodrick and denzel washington.. powerful movie. Don't laugh but another movie that stands out for me is Armagedon..only reason critics destroyed it was because Michael Bay directed it. Some others that stand out are Cinderella Man, Raiders of the lost ark, Saving Private Ryan, Animal House, Good Fellas(I did not like the God Father), Brave Heart,Rocky and my favorite of the series Rocky 2. Conan the Barbarian and of course casablanca and so many more.
As for romcoms here two that are underrated The Mexican with brad pitt and julia roberts. His Gal Friday with carey grant.

1989 Batman is my favorite one as well. Kind of wish they didn't make all of these other ones because that first one has gotten lost.

Whats some of your odd or cult ones? Some of my favs (that I own) are Bad Boy Bubby, australian, kinda "well known" cult movie, great too. Man bites dog, belgian movie about a killer who's followed around by a film crew. Pretty raw Kaidan, japanese horror from 1964 with handpainted sets (reason I bought it) American astronaut, low budget goodness La Haine, french one with younger Vince Cassell (lucky bastard being married to Monica Bellucci - speaking of her, Irreversible too) Dead mans shoes, Paddy Considine is pretty great in that one Begotten is fun to mess with people, I had a friend see it, she called me like 1am TOTALLY freaked out, was sobbing, all like what the hell is going on, I cant turn it off, but Im losing it Also have a copy of Salo for when people keep pestering me to loan my dvds, these things are hard to find, cost alot, gtfo... Some directors like Haneke (and that's from "Benny" and "71 fragments..." and original Funny Games time) Vincenzo Natali (I like his style, esp in Cypher, he also did Cube and Splice, Nothing was pretty fun) Jim Jarmusch (don't like his every move, but I do like Dead man and Limits of control alot) One of my all time favorites is Bela Tarr (hungarian) and his Werckmeister Harmonies, very powerful movie. Still haven't seen Satantango (7 hrs, 4 dvds), Greenaway, Kieslowski, Thomas McCarthy, Coen bros... All that said, I still think Sunshine is one of the great sci-fi movies, I own Once upon a time in west, I like Joss Whedon stuff and I can enjoy Red and Expendables One guy that kinda annoys me was Tarsem Singh, he did The Cell and I was listening to the commentary wondering what kind of freak he was, turns out he's a jolly indian that was doing scenes cuz someone made good sets... Still like that and The Fall is great, don't care for other 2 ...and this just got way too much writing...made me miss Rockets first half

I know it was aimed at James No no, by all means, welcome. A classic list, should gather a few guys to do a Harold Ramis weekend, get wasted It was tough omitting Ghostbusters, but my list was already pretty comedy heavy. Honestly, I could make top 10 comedy list, make it my all time movie top 10 and have no problems with it. I would love to do a Harold Ramis weekend, Mel Brooks weekend or John Hughes weekend. Or, to be more actor specific, Vince Vaughn weekend (starting with Rudy and Swingers, ending with The Interns), Will Ferrell weekend (Anchorman to The Lego Movie) or any of the old SNL guys (Belushi, Murphy, Akroyd, Murray, etc.). My wife would love nothing more than a Channing Tatum weekend or a rom-com weekend. I'd rather low crawl through broken glass covered concrete than experience that.

1989 Batman is my favorite one as well. Kind of wish they didn't make all of these other ones because that first one has gotten lost. From 1990 until the year before the latest trilogy. The last three I loved. Everything in between, not so much (even though I did love Jim Carrey as the Riddler).
