I too am Matt and I'm taking over for Colin. You guys can call me Kanter. I'm 23 and I'm finishing up my last semester of school. I've worked at MLB.com for the past year and nine months. Living in NYC right now and loving life. Just got a puppy, girlfriend for 3 years (this April 1) and my favorite band is Coheed and Cambria. Rotoworld was one of the top 5 things to ever happen to me. Sports rule. Football --> Baseball -- Hockey (if the Rangers are ever good again it's #1) --> Basketball are the order. Hockey is my real love, but like I said, it's tough when your team is a pile of shit. The J E T S have taken over as football is clearly the most exciting and best sport. Jets/Rangers/Yanks then Knicks Nobody in my parts has even ever heard of Coheed and Camrbia so for that, I appreciate you. My name is Scott, I'll be 23 this coming Saturday. Been playing fantasy sports of all kinds for better than half my life. I'm finishing up my undergrad degree in criminology and intend to obtain my Masters immediately after. Currently manage a restaurant and am married with two children and one on the way (July). Avid reader, movie watcher, and music listener (everything from Bach to CCR to Avenged Sevenfold). Sports teams- Twins, Wild (college, Gophers), Vikings/Bucs, and is the NBA still a sport?

Since we had some movie discussion a little while back, I was wondering if music was next. Myself, I also listen to a wide variety of music. Recently, I'm going through another Pogues phase. But some of my all-time favorite bands include PHiSH, Iron Maiden, Jane's Addiction, Sigur Ros, old Metallica....

Movies/TV shows are huge for me. Not my time right now, but still make time.
What is your cut off for old/new Metallica? Iron Maiden is up there for me for that era of metal.
Top bands for me across the board- Lamb of God, The Cars, Avenged Sevenfold, CCR, Alice in Chains, and Johnny Cash.
Also, guess I should have paid attention to the dates on the posts. lol

There's a clear cutoff after Justice for me. Not a fan after that album, but pretty much love most of everything before (and including) Justice.

I personally like Metallica's first 4, Black album has some good stuff, but it's just way too commercial. I can't stand those overplayed songs on it, same with like Soundgarden's Black hole sun. Then all that Napster bs, from a band that I first heard of by trading tapes...
Old AiC rocks ass, new one isn't too bad, but it's not same without Layne. Hard to do top5-10, I go mostly by periods, bluesrock 1969-76ish, grunge 1989-1995 (including bands like Gruntruck, Tad, My Sisters Machine first, early Helmet, Rollins Band, even some canadian stuff like I mother Earth's Dig album), stoner- psych- rock, but I'm no stranger to prog and jazz
Top 10 would start something like this AiC Primus Kyuss Tool Dax Riggs stuff (Acid Bath - Agents of oblivion - Deadman & the Elephantmen - solo recordings) Mad Season

Ooo yeah. Tool is great. Yes is another fave. Let's see, what else...Dylan, Dire Straits, my bloody valentine, radiohead, Pink Floyd, Mahavishnu Orch (anything Mclaughlin, really), Police, Siouxsie, Stereolab, Swervedriver, the Verve, U2, Spacemen 3....I could go on...
(yes I did just scroll through my itunes)
I like some Primus stuff (mainly the Frizzle Fry and STSOC) and the 1st 2 AiC albums.
Never in my dreams did I ever think I would see Gruntruck mentioned anywhere near anything related to fantasy baseball. I was never into them, but I did give them a try back in the grunge days. One of my friends was big on them. Mudhoney is who I listen to when I want to hear some grunge.

Happy Valentine's Day to all you baseball lovers.
My name is Jamie. Lovely wife, no kids. I like vintage Hondas, rye whiskey, and Milano cookies. I turn 45 a couple days after the Detroit Tigers home opener.
I believe my aging process will reset to 13 years old once we finally win our first WS since '84. Of course, my favorite band is Van Halen (no Van Hagar), and I play 'Panama' continuously in the rental car when I get a chance to hit Florida spring training.
I predict Mike Pelfrey will outduel Max Scherzer in Game 7 of the WS.
I manage two softball teams, and I believe the fact that our coed team has won two basement-level rec league titles makes me better qualified to set the lineup than Brad Ausmus.
Yes, I live in a elaborate fantasy world in more than one sense.
I've been in this league for 3 or 4 years - can't remember. But I am anxiously, ANXIOUSLY awaiting the launch of the league and the agonizing, torturous, sweet anticipation of the SLOOOOOOWWWWWW DRAFT. Fire it up Ms. Greeley!

It was a trick apparently, get to know thy enemy and trick them into bad trades using their weaknesses. I look at this thread with nothing but regrets and feelings of sadness. Welcome and enjoy your stay.
